Sloss Real Estate purchased the historic Young & Vann building in 2002 and completed a $3 million renovation the following year, creating the new Center for Regional Planning and Design with 28,000 square feet of first-class office space. The century-old warehouse currently serves as headquarters for The Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, Region 2020, the Auburn Urban Design Studio, and the Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham. The site currently houses Artfolk, a photo essay by Jonathan Purvis, and will soon be the home of the Birmingham-Jefferson History Museum’s newest exhibition.
