As we enter 2025, we reflect on the milestones and new beginnings that made 2024 an excellent year for the Sloss Real Estate family.
Celebrating Leaders
We recognized Vicki Bolton, our Vice President of Administration, for 20 incredible years with Sloss Real Estate. Vicki’s dedication and expertise have been instrumental in shaping our success, and we are grateful for her contributions.
This year also marked a bittersweet moment for our Pepper Place community as we celebrated Richard Tubb’s retirement. As one of our first Pepper Place tenants, Richard and his shop have played a pivotal role in establishing the district as a regional design destination.
Women Who Lead
At Sloss Real Estate, we’re proud to support and honor female leadership and entrepreneurs. This year, our President, Cathy Sloss Jones, was named to the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2024 Power 60, recognizing her dedication to transforming our community.
We also congratulated Lochrane Chase, our Director of Leasing and Business Development, for being honored as one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2024 Women to Watch. Her motivation continues to drive opportunity at Sloss Real Estate.
Team Growth
This year, we welcomed Erin Letts to the Sloss Real Estate family as our Director of Marketing and Design. As a small group, each team member wears multiple hats, and we are excited to see Erin in action, bringing her creativity and love for all things marketing and events.
Milestones at Pepper Place
The Pepper Place community continues to thrive, and 2024 saw the exciting addition of several new tenants:
- Bodyrok: Bringing its first Birmingham location to the district, Bodyrok offers an innovative Pilates fitness experience, combining strength training and cardio for a dynamic workout. @bodyrokbirmingham
- Encore Stone Studio: A stunning space for hand-selected natural stone and quartz, Encore Stone Studio invites guests to explore their collection and find home inspiration at 2700 2nd Avenue South, Suite 100. @encorestonestudiobham
- Heather Chadduck: A celebrated decorator, textile designer, and photo stylist, Heather brings her creative expertise to Pepper Place. @heatherchadduck

Also, The Market at Pepper Place, an event held each Saturday within our district of Pepper Place, continues to shine as a community cornerstone. Its recent feature in Southern Living’s list of the 17 Best Farmers’ Markets in the South is a testament to the hard work of The Market team and our farmers and vendors who make Saturday mornings in Pepper Place a tradition.
