At Sloss Real Estate, we’re proud to shape places that do more than meet the eye. Our spaces serve to connect and inspire, and our flagship mixed-use development, Pepper Place, does just that.
Known for its creative energy, historic architecture, and treasured farmers market, Pepper Place is expanding in exciting ways. From new showrooms to wellness studios and women-led businesses, we’re building with intention to serve both our tenants and the broader community.
If you’ve walked the district lately, you may have noticed some changes. Here is the latest:
- Kravet – Now open in the Martin Biscuit Building, Kravet is a global leader in textiles, tailoring products to the interior design industry. Their new Birmingham showroom functions as a collaborative workspace, where designers can meet with clients or work independently on their projects.
- Alchemy Spa & Wellness – Opening this month in The Studios Building, Alchemy brings holistic healing, bodywork, and wellness therapies to the district. It adds a new layer to our lineup of self-care and wellness offerings.
- Schumacher & Patterson Flynn – Coming this October, just in time for Antiques at the Gardens (being co-chaired by Heather Chadduck, who is also a Pepper Place tenant), Schumacher brings over 135 years of design legacy to Pepper Place. Their presence further solidifies the district’s role as a national design destination.
- Odette – Now open, Odette is a beautifully curated furniture and lifestyle boutique from Laura Vogtle, founder of Design Supply. Already recognized as one of the best home showrooms in the Southeast, Odette is drawing attention from across the region.
- Thomas & Hutton – A respected engineering and planning firm, Thomas & Hutton has relocated to Pepper Place, further deepening our ecosystem of creative and community-focused professionals.
- Chalker Group – This women-owned executive recruiting firm recently joined the third floor of the Dr Pepper Building, bringing leadership and national expertise.
While we’re proud to welcome national brands like Kravet and Schumacher, Sloss Real Estate remains firmly rooted in local vision, talent, and entrepreneurship.
“Pepper Place has always been grounded in local vision and creativity, and that foundation remains at the heart of everything we do,” said Cathy Sloss Jones, President and CEO of Sloss Real Estate. “We’re also proud to welcome national design leaders like Kravet and Schumacher. These brands recognize the strength and spirit of this district. Their presence elevates visibility and draws new attention to our incredible community of local businesses.”
